Our Tenth Year in Ilkley

As we start our tenth year in Ilkley, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on what we have achieved in our home town.

Whilst we work throughout the North of England, it's amazing to think we are just one short of 50 completed projects within a two mile radius of our town-centre office. Add to this a further 27 designs of which 8 are either in Planning or ready to start on site, it's easy to see that our local track record speaks for itself.

Ilkley projects have generated awards in the form of Civic Society Awards in 2006 and 2011, a Bradford District Design Award in 2006 and last year, we were shortlisted for the Northern Design Awards and the RIBA Awards, the most prestigious of all awards in architecture.

We are Ilkley's largest Chartered Architects' Practice with the in-house resources needed to support any size and type of project which might be appropriate to the town. Our two Project Directors share 50 years of post-qualification experience and can truly demonstrate expertise in construction and sustainability.

Weekly Architectural Clinic

Sense of Space continue to offer this new service, intended to help local residents and business owners to get the most from their properties.

For one afternoon each week, we hold an Architectural Clinic, offering free advice to anyone who is looking to improve their home or build a new house. The service is also available to owners of commercial property who are seeking to get the best from their investment.

The weekly Architectural Clinic has been timed to coincide with the Law Clinic offered by neighbours, Ison Harrison, and takes place every Tuesday between 3pm and 5pm at the Ilkley office of Sense of Space at 50a The Grove. Initial free consultations of 30 minutes are available and attendees are requested to reserve a time slot by calling Sense of Space on 01943 816489.

Sense of Space at the Northern Design Awards

Sense of Space were finalists in the prestigious Northern Design Awards 2011, having been shortlisted in both the Luxury Home and Eco Design categories. The awards ceremony, held at the 5 star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, was attended by judges and celebrities from the world of design including Architect and TV presenter, George Clarke and garden designer, Diarmuid Gavin.
