The Cow and Calf Cafe - Ilkley

In 2012, work was completed on the refurbishment of a redundant water pumping building into a new cafe at the iconic Cow and Calf rocks, replacing the existing 'port-a-cabin' on the site.

Whilst this remains one of the smallest projects we have ever undertaken, it proved to be extremely complex in terms of Planning Legislation and the logistics of maintaining operations in a remote location during the construction process.

The cafe supplies food and drink to tourists and walkers, as well as being regularly used by film crews whilst on location. For more information, please visit the cafe's Facebook page.

Work has not stopped at the Cow and Calf with a new planning approval obtained in 2015 for an extension to the kiosk that provides much needed internal seating and secure storage through the refurbishment of a below ground tank.  These additions begin to resurrect some of the early aspirations and aims of the client for the cafe.
