New dwelling on challenging site

Primarily dictated by the site and natural environment this new luxury dwelling sits unobtrusively within an existing wooded area. Creating a new house between existing trees is always a challenge but by using sensitive building techniques and encouraging habitat creation this development will enhance the natural woodland environment.

The house is split into 3 levels with the primary living spaces projecting on a wing from the central footprint. This wing is built on a raised deck to protect the woodland floor and remove the need to excavate into the slope. The wing terminates in a deck from the living room that partially cantilevers over the stream and waterfall.
